Global Scenes Reports
Journalism in the Public Interest — Independent. Accurate. Global.
Editorial Standards
Global Scenes Reports (GSR) is committed to independent, accurate and evidence-based journalism in the public interest.
Our journalism seeks to inform rather than manipulate; verify rather than amplify; distinguish fact from allegation and analysis; correct errors transparently; and give audiences sufficient context to understand the events, institutions and decisions shaping public life.
These Editorial Standards apply to GSR’s news reports, Breaking News Alerts (BNA), investigations, analysis, election coverage, live broadcasts, interviews, visual journalism, social-media publications and material supplied by correspondents and contributors.
Speed does not override accuracy. Competition does not override verification. Political, commercial or personal interests do not determine GSR’s editorial conclusions.
Where information remains uncertain, we say so. Where facts change, we update them. Where GSR makes a material error, we correct it.
Accuracy
Accuracy is the foundation of GSR journalism. We distinguish established fact from allegation, inference and opinion — and we say so clearly.
Independence
GSR’s editorial judgment belongs to GSR. We operate independently of political parties, governments, corporations and advocacy organisations.
Correction
Accuracy includes correcting the record. Where GSR establishes a material factual error, we correct it promptly and transparently.
Sources
The strength of journalism depends upon the quality of its sources. Primary sources are preferred; anonymous sourcing is used cautiously.
Verification
Verify first. Publish according to what the evidence supports. Verification is a continuing editorial process — it does not end at publication.
AI Policy
Artificial intelligence may assist journalism. It does not replace editorial responsibility. Human editors remain accountable for every GSR publication.
Ethics
Journalism carries responsibilities as well as freedoms. GSR balances the public interest in reporting against accuracy, fairness, dignity, privacy and safety.
Editorial Responsibility
These standards establish the principles governing journalism published under the Global Scenes Reports name. No written policy can anticipate every editorial situation. Where circumstances fall outside a specific rule, GSR will apply the underlying principles of accuracy, independence, verification, fairness, transparency and public interest.
Editorial decisions remain subject to review by the GSR Editorial Office. These standards may be revised as GSR’s journalism, technology and international operations develop. Material amendments will be reflected on this page.
